The Grand Marina!

Hello there !

Its been almost 6 months that we’ve moved here and Dubai is growing on me. From the stress of moving your life into this completely new domain, I have now moved into this cocoon of comfort that this city offers. It is all because of the wonderful people I ve met, the amazing infrastructure that Dubai offers and of course the surroundings and environment that we encounter on a day to day basis.

Living in a city that is a major tourist hub, especially at this time of the year, you realise how much the beauty of all things- big and small, make u fall in love with it slowly and steadily. I know its just one factor amongst many that has contributed to this, but I truly believe when u live amongst such beauty, it makes u feel good each and everyday. So here’s my take on Dubai Marina, the very dynamic and absolutely beautiful part of Dubai.

Hello!

Our Emirati sojourns officially began yesterday with a short trip to Al Ain, the beautiful Garden City of UAE. It surely is a very pleasant surprise with more greenery around, hardly any high rise in sight and of course much lower decibel levels.

There’s so much to do here for  everyone- Museums, Forts, Zoo etc. It’s a family getaway for sure. All we had time for yesterday was the Al Ain zoo and a drive to the top of Jebel Hafeet to experience the spectacular sunset from the top.

Rising 1,240 metres, Jebel Hafeet is the emirate’s highest peak, and UAE’s second that stands guard over Al Ain and borders Oman.

The ride to the top is not an easy one but the views of the craggy and beautifully weathered mountain all along surely are worth the trouble.

Once on top, all you need to do is find the right place to stop and park ( many stopover points all along) and enjoy the view.

We thoroughly enjoyed a few hours of bliss up there and will be going back soon again. If you are in and around Al Ain, surely take time out to enjoy this view from the top. I can assure you of an unforgettable experience.

HAPPY NEW YEAR my friends!

I have decided to begin the new year with my European Swirl stories. I am super excited about it. I could have done this series in chronological order of places we visited, but thought against it. I wanted to share what I loved most and then take it through the rest. But don’t worry there won’t be nothing that I didn’t like… Overall I loved it all, but this undoubtedly was the best of the lot.

So my favourite part were the 2 days spent in the Black Forest region of Germany. They were dreamy, exciting, beautiful and a list of all good things a place can be. My pictures are no justice to the breathtaking views we encountered on every twist n turn. You need to be there to actually feel it.

The Setting Sun{Weekly Photo Challenge}

Hello again!

On a recent road trip from Mumbai to Goa, we drove through the Chorla Ghat, a part of the Western Ghats in the Sahyadri mountain range. It is at an elevation of 800 meters and the view from the top is simply spectacular! While descending these mountains, I was awestruck by the beauty of the setting sun & couldn’t stop the photographer in me from capturing it. Here’s what I got & I so loved every pixel of it. Hope you do too. Enjoy!

HARBOUR LIGHTS CRUISE, NIGHTTIME{Weekly Photo Challenge}

Hello again!

I have always been fascinated by the pictures of Manhattan skyline at night, & have dreamt of capturing it through my viewfinder too. My trip to New York last month gave me the perfect opportunity to fulfil this dream. So, we got onto the the late evening Harbour Lights Cruise one day. This cruise was filled with tonnes of beautiful moments with my family and also gave me the most amazing Manhattan, Brooklyn Bridge & Statue of Liberty clicks.

Although this post was scheduled to be much later in my vacation series, WCP Nighttime challenge came in between and here I am sharing these beauties now. Enjoy this Cruise through my eyes.
