Hello friends,
Life seems to be back on track and I am clicking more and more, always on a quest to find a better picture. To shake up things on the Photography front, I participated in the Global Photo Walk by 500px on 17 Sep 2016 and ain’t I glad. The photowalk started at the Deira Fish Market & covered the Gold Souk, Spice Souk and of course the creek. Somehow my fascination for fish markets took over and I spent a lot of my time here. One of the last images I liked in the fish market sits so well in the Weekly Photo Challenge – Quest.
As I was about to exit the fish market, I noticed a dead fish lying on the drain cover. I couldn’t help but feel sorry for that little fish as my mind conjured up a story about its quest for freedom and its way back home. From getting caught in the nets of the fishermen that morning to being brought here in a bucket full of fellow fishes to somehow managing to jump out of the bucket and somehow finally reaching as far as the drain cover but finally not being able to get through the narrow openings in the drain cover and dying lying there in the Dubai heat – huh… my story was complete. The story of that lone fighter on it quest to find home again. Sad it died but at least it tried!
The Lone Fighter
All this happened within a few seconds of looking at this fish. I clicked the picture and then went away. Its funny how the human mind can travel in so many different directions and make us feel much more than what we see.
Anyhow, hope you get it too.
Cheers & Joy, Always!
